Day 2 of 3. With an approaching cold front, afternoon storms forced us inside the Palmetto Bluff Riverside Inn porch. Shari demonstrated painting a dramatic sky and the use of the paper’s surface texture for creating highlights. Plein air 11×15″ Arches 300lb. cp.
Day 2 of 3. Shari’s morning lesson started with page design and drawing directly with a brush to outline the sketch. No pencil! I had started a value study while she was setting up helping me get familiar with the subject. I outlined the subject with the brush using raw sienna. A misplaced line can be seen in the white roof.
